Petition Action

Allow 16 and 17 year olds to take part in Democratic votes

Petition Details

16 and 17 year olds are allowed to join armed forces, leave school, leave home, and work full time, but they cannot be involved in Democratic decisions, which is wrong, in my opinion, and many others.

Additional Information

We would like parliament to debate this petition, and vote to allow 16 and 17 year olds to vote. They are MORE than responsible enough to vote, considering what they already are allowed to do. Please sign this petition to help this happen.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
