Petition Action

To legally exempt the sale of arms and weapons in the UK's GDP calculations

Petition Details

A call for our government to exempt the sale of arms and weapons from the nation's gross domestic product (GDP).
Our GDP is the total monetary value of all final goods made in the UK.
We should not be including arms and weapons in this calculation as it incentivises war and death for UK to profit

Additional Information

Our nations economy is being boosted and even propped up by war and death. There should be no economic incentive for these multi billion pound contracts to aggressive nations. By changing the way we calculate GDP our government won't have a political or economic purpose for selling deadly weapons.
These weapons are not designed to be detterent but to cause death and destruction and we as a nation want our government to make the correct moral and responsible decisions on behalf of us the people.
