10,000 pensioners denied compensation by Treasury creational fiction

Petition Details

In 2010 parliament introduced a bill to compensate one million annuitants who were with Equitable Life Assurance.Mark Hoban a treasury minister inserted an amendment which denied 10,000 annuitants any compensation because they started their policy before 10/09/1992

Additional Information

When an annuity is commenced the annuitant is completely dependant on the performance of the provider (The Equitable ) therefore when the Equitable became a Ponzi scheme all annuitants suffered equally. To deny compensation to 10,000 annuitants who started in a period when maladministration was said to be non existent ,but suffered from it for 7 years later is immpossible to understand .

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

It's clear that you are concerned about the treatment of Equitable Life annuitants, but not clear what action you would like the Government to take.

We can only accept petitions that contain a clear request for action - for example, to provide compensation to all annuitants.
