Exclude special needs individuals from having to achieve English and Maths at C
There has been an introduction of a new law dictating that all children should have to keep studying Maths and English until they achieve at least a grade C in education.
There has been no consideration made to children with learning difficulties and disabilities, who cannot achieve this.
I am a Mother of a 15 year old child who is statemented and disabled with learning difficulties, The impact of having to keep studying something such as Maths, a subject of which she will never manage to achieve a C grade, is destructive to her self confidence and puts greater pressure on her, when that time and effort could be placed on something she wants to study at college and can succeed in.
I would like the government to review this, work to their strengths by not demanding a set grade.
