Petition Details

After being employed all their lives, some people find themselves unemployed through no fault of their own. It can be soul-destroying and insulting for people who have paid tax for over 35 years to be treated the same as someone who has never worked.

Additional Information

People’s years of employment and contributions to society should be taken into account in the benefits system. Anyone who has worked for over 35 years should be entitled to a higher rate of benefits if they become unemployed.
