Ensure fair working conditions in the Far East and prevent exploitation there.
Working conditions in the Far East, particularly China, are in most cases, horrendous. This unfair cheap labour is what supplies the low prices we benefit from; do we want to be part of a system that allows large companies to exploit the poor sometimes into suicide attempts?
Companies who violate Human Rights should be blocked from operation within the UK, and the EU (if they- the EU- will co-operate).
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The UK Government or Parliament have no control over working conditions in companies in the Far East. That would be a matter for governments in those countries.
You could start a petition asking for the UK Government to require UK retailers to take certain actions, or a petition encouraging the UK Government to work with other governments (including other EU member states) to improve conditions.
