30% Cut to Government MPs' pay
The government has an ongoing commitment to be responsible for the fiscal policy and returning the public finances to a sustainable position. It would be grossly hypocritical for any MP NOT to take a pay cut given the financial crisis & recession.
Remember the MPs expenses scandal?.

Speaking for myself and many other workers I have not received a pay rise in 5 years. The cost of living has went up and my current pay does not reflect this. Meaning if the workers, such as myself, can make do then so can the MP's.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Government and Parliament don’t have the power to set MPs’ pay. That power was given by Parliament to the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) in 2010, so that after 2012 MPs no longer had control over their own pay. IPSA conducted a public consultation after 2012 and decided what the salaries of MPs should be after the election.
