Petition Action

Directly elected Head of Government

Additional Information

We, the undersigned, wish for legislation to be brought in to enable the people of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland the basic democratic right to directly elect the position that forms the Head of Government and that such position will be restricted to a fixed term in line with a parliamentary term, that would be followed by a general election. It is the belief by those undersigned that it is the fundamental right that the people should decide who holds the ultimate position in government and that a political elite is not representative of the citizens of this country.
