Stop the government from fracking under UK National Parks.
The UK government has backed plans to frack under UK National Parks. Yet fracking is just another way to avoid the reality that we need to switch to renewables or nuclear. It risks releasing toxic chemicals into the soil of our national parks and is non-renewable.
Why should we damage our natural assets for a temporary solution to our energy needs?
Studies have proven it has caused many frequent earthquakes in the US. Most recently fracking caused a 4.6 magnitude earthquake in Oklahoma just yesterday. Why should we risk creating new fault lines under the UK?Surely the costs outweigh the benefits and there is simply not enough research.
