For health and safety reasons. UK construction site workers must speak English

Petition Details

On most construction sites in the UK we come across workers doing there tasks that are unable to respond when asked a simple question. It's not there fault at all, but in the case of emergency how would these fellow workers warn others with phrases like below, stop, that's close, don't step there.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We're not sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.

If you wanted Parliament to place a duty on certain employers to ensure that their employees could speak English, you could start a petition asking Parliament to change the law.

Alternatively, if you wanted the Government to provide support or incentives to employers (such as free language classes), you could start a petition asking for that.
