Tougher penalties for using a mobile phone whilst driving.
As it stands, the penalty for using a mobile phone whilst driving, is insignificant for the potential it has to cause death.
A £100 fixed penalty and 3 points on the driver's licence is not a big enough deterrent.
Increase the penalty, points and/or ban the the driver for a long period of time.
'A substantial body of research shows that using a hand-held or hands-free mobile phone while driving is a significant distraction, and substantially increases the risk of the driver crashing'.
