Petition Action

Use the £11.4bn Foreign Aid Budget to help those affected by the floods .

Petition Details

Foreign aid budget £11.4bn
UK Flood Budget £802.6m
Use the foreign aid budget to make the Rivers deeper, Dredging etc. Maybe even build a Los Angeles Flood System across the country with rivers connected ready for when they are at risk.
Spending the money now before it gets worse and costs more

Additional Information

Its clear that the flood defences are pointless and a waste of public money Create a LA style 'Man Made River' that the rivers can connect to and over flow into toward the coast or large reservoirs, Dredge the Rivers, Possibly make them 1 Meter Deeper so they can handle more capacity. With both of these systems there will be a much greater and cost effective defence system reducing public spending in the future. Its an investment that is worth it especially when it protects homes and businesses

You could start a petition specifically calling for a 'man made river' to be created.
