Use money that would be spent on HS2 on improving flood defences.
Large parts of the North of England recently suffered from significant flooding in thousands homes, businesses and to infrastructure Current flood defences have proven to be inadequate and are in urgent need of a review and upgrade. This would be better than arriving in London 20 mins quicker!
