Stop animals being sold on Gumtree.
Please stop animals being sold on Gumtree, it is an open door for folk that shouldn't own then. I have come across instances, where the dogs have been sold on for a much higher price. Also sadly with Dog fighting, whose to say they are not being used as bait dog's :(.
Please put a stop to it.
My newly rescued Airedale Terrier was advertised on the French equivalent of Gumtree, I have photo's of the add, along with photos from him being collected. He was in an awful state, ungroomed & so hyper & stressed out.
I have also seen these adds on my Facebook groups. I know my boy was in France. But you see these adds on Gumtree, so many times. I have seen folk post the original add, then another of the same dog being sold on for much more money!!!.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The decision about whether to sell pets or not is a matter for Gumtree, which is a private company.
You could try contacting Gumtree directly to ask them to change their policy.
Alternatively, you could start a petition asking Parliament to pass a law restricting the sale of animals on the internet.
