Start to dredge rivers and estuaries, to reduce the risk of flooding.
Our river used to be regularly dredged to facilitate small coasters going upriver, and to keep the water levels down.
Since joining the EU we have been told not to dredge, but to leave the rivers as 'natural'.
This must change, as surely as our climate is changing.
Many fishermen have been dry-landed, due to the EU fishing quotas. Why not use their skills on boats to assist with the dredging?
