Petition Action

Standardise Food Labelling (Dietary Requirements)

Additional Information

Food labelling (for dietary requirements) should be the same for all products.
<*>All food products should state the nutritional information per portion & per packet.

<*>All food should state if it is Halal
<*>All food should state if it is Kosher
<*>All food should state if it is suitable for Vegetarians
<*>All food should state if it is suitable for Vegans

<*>Calories, Fat, Salt and Fibre should be stated on the front of the package.

<*>If all food was labelled in this way people would be able to compare products efficiently without the need for a calculator and it would make it easier for people to follow daily guidelines for healthy eating. It would also help people to identify what they are able or allowed to eat and conform to their religious or ethical beliefs.
