UK to cancel military sales with the Saudis until they commit to human rights.
The Saudis disregard human rights, as defined by the UN, through laws that discriminate and by punitive punishments. By its sales the UK government is complicit in these abuses; it has no mandate for military sales to continue, particularly as such arms may be used against Saudis and Yemenis.
Evidence for human rights abuses in Saudi Arabia are widespread, not the least through the UN itself, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and through the UK diplomatic mission in Saudi Arabia itself.
