Support those affected by human rights issues at Guantanamo Bay.
At Guantánamo, the U.S. government sought to hold detainees in a place neither U.S. nor international law applied. But no one can be held outside of the law. Approximately 116 inmates still remain in Guantánamo.
These men have been subjected to a wide range of interrogation tactics that constitute ill-treatment, including stress positions, sensory deprivation, prolonged isolation, the use of 20-hour interrogations, hooding during transportation and interrogation, stripping, forcible shaving, and "using detainees individual phobias (such as fear of dogs) to induce stress." All these actions are against people's simple human rights that everyone should be entitled to.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
It's not clear what action you would like the UK Government to take to support those who have been detained. Petitions need to ask clearly for a specific action.
