Create an e-petition site that is fit for purpose
Since the launch of the e-petition site in early August 2011, there have been several "problems" concerning access. The site system displays a notice saying that something has gone wrong. Even the most popular petition has received a mere 30 signatures a minute (or one signature every 2 seconds) and yet the site falls over. In this age of advanced information technology, this is, frankly, pathetic and whoever is responsible for creating a website that cannot cope with such a relatively low level of demand should be dismissed. Think how many hits a genuinely popular site has and compare that with one hit every two seconds. Another waste of public money?
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
