British planes should drop emergency aid to civilians starving in Syria.
In a report by the independent up to 40,000 civilians are slowly starving to death in the Syrian town of Madaya. Food ran out two months ago, and conditions have rapidly deteriorated in subsequent weeks. The price of food has spiralled uncontrollably, with a 1kg bag of rice costing as much as $100.
Our government should focus on using our military to assist in a humanitarian mission to ensure that the civilians get medical help, shelter, food and clean water including reusable filtration containers filled with clean water, solar lights that can also be used to recharge mobile phones, and tents and tarpaulins as soon as possible.
