Do not change the school time table for religion's sake.

Petition Details

The Exam Board, Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) have introduced proposals to alter the school exam time table to suit Muslims and their month of Ramadam in June.

Additional Information

As Muslim children are already exempt from fasting, this is unnecessary pandering to a religious culture and has no place whatsoever in British schools. Those who wish to live on our island must abide by our rules and our way of life, integrating into society - or leave.
The news followed comments from the children's commissioner Anne Longfield, who said talks were being held around "delaying the exam timetable" to lessen the impact on taking tests for Muslim students.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Decisions about the dates of exams are taken by exam boards, not by the UK Government or Parliament.
