Extenuating circumstances for students who have to work (term time and holidays)
Students who have to work to pay maintenance have a lot less time to work and revise than other students, this puts pressure on them to keep up with other students.
I worked a 35 hour week over the holidays, on top of coursework and revising for exams, meaning i am less likely to do as well.
Many students are forced to work to support themselves throughout university, but this greatly reduces the time they have to study, and puts a lot more pressure on them during exam times. This should be taken into consideration by the examiners, in order to ensure students who have to work are not penalised because of this.
