Petition Action

Stop the enforcement of formal dress code at work.

Petition Details

Office work requires no reason aside from looking like an office worker to wear formal attire. It adds time to my life getting ready for work I could be spending with my son. I'd be more comfortable in my own clothes and likely be more productive. If I chose, I could still wear a suit for meetings.

Additional Information

It would save people money by not needing two sets of clothes.

No need to iron jeans.

Comfort.

Less washing of clothes, energy saving.

Massive boost to the UK work force morale of office workers who want to wear more comfy clothes.

More free time for people.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Dress codes at work are the responsibility of individual employers.
