Petition Action

Prevent frivolous petitions being raised that waste time in parliament

Petition Details

There has been a number of petitions that have gained media attention and unwarranted popularity resulting in them raising 100,000 signatures and therefore being discussed, this should not be happening.
These frivolous topics should not even reach a parliamentary discussion.

Additional Information

In particular the petition to ban Donald Trump from visiting the UK, as well as votes of no confidence in various MP's.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

It's not clear who you would like to decide which petitions are frivolous, or what criteria you think should be used to define a frivolous petition.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly the change you would like to see.
