Social Workers to keep their local Authority Essential Car User Allowance.
with ever increasing demands to Local Authority budjets , Local Authorities are proposing in some areas to remove this entitlement from Social Workers.
Social workers use this to maintain their vehicals. Despite being professionals we are one of the lowest paid and losing this entitlement would place children at risk. Social workers see many vulnerable children daily, attend meetings, transport children to and from contact among many other demands on their vehicles. Why should a low paid professional now have to fund this.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Essential care user allowance is the responsibility of local councils.
You may already know that your local council also has a petitions process - you can find out more about it here:
www.wirral.gov.uk/about-council/have-your-say/petitions
You could submit a new petition calling for the government to provide funding specifically so councils can continue to provide essential car user allowance.
