Bring back the Future Jobs Fund (FJF)

Additional Information

The FJF means a guaranteed 6 months of employment for people aged 18-24.

While on an FJF placement, a young person receives around £140 in return for 25 hours of hard work, instead of £53 job seekers allowance.

I was on an FJF placement with Age Concern, I impressed them enough that they offered me an additional 6 months of employment using funds left over after the scheme was scrapped. It was a fantastic opportunity, I got a lot out of it and so did the charity. I also happen to have a degree in English, but 3 months since my FJF placement ended, I am struggling to find work and the government expect me to do unpaid work experience for up to 8 weeks. My skills are wasted and I don't need more experience, I need a job!
