Make finding cures for our cancers the number one scientific priority.
In the UK, one out of every three people will develope cancer, that's a third of the goverment's voters! One in eight females will develope breast cancer- that's one in every fourth house! Both my wife and daughter have been diagnosed, so I'm motivated to get this goverment's priorities changed!
We need to march in the streets banging big drums until things change! Humankind has an inherent selfish streak; we would rather entertain ourselves by spending billions of Euros, sending a spaceprobe to Mars in the hope of getting a clue, as to whether sola winds, could have been the cause of Mars losing its atmospere millions of years ago. Knowledge we can survive without. We don't need the serendipitous crumbs that may fall off the table of space exploration, but specifically targeted funds!
