Mandatory blood donation upon entering the UK as an immigrant or asylum seeker
it would be difficult for those seeking asylum in the UK to contribute to its society before entering it. However, if each person over 18 who was granted access to the UK for an indeterminate amout of time was required to give blood they would have contributed 'something'.
This would serve for multiple purposes; the first is that they could potentially save the lives or help the sick or needy, which in itself would help reduce the strain on any blood reserves that the NHS might have, and would also show a desire to contribute to the society of the country they are entering.
The other benefits are listed below:
DNA Identifcation
Identification (and treatment) of transmissible diseases (HIV, syphills, herpes to name a few)
NI contribution that is not monetary

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The decision to give blood is for an individual to make, provided that they meet the eligibility criteria set out by the NHS.
