Petition Details

Online ads can be downright dishonest! Even on supposedly reputable sites. This makes the web dangerous for the unaware or children.

If companies were held responsible for the ads they carry it would force the industry to clean up its act. "It's third party advertising" should not be an excuse.

Additional Information

"Your Phone Has a Virus. Click here to clean it"
"You Have Two New Messages"
Adverts that fake the user interface of the site that hosts them.
Dodgy online pharmacies.
Adverts that will install malware when clicked.

Maybe "This funny trick" or "Doctors/Insurers/Bank Managers/Energy Suppliers will hate this trick" are just annoying. I've never clicked to see whether they are spam or scam.
