Create a register of In-House Lobbyists and a public record of their activities.
To ensure public interest is not drowned out by corporate spending, it should be transparent who is professionally engaged in attempting to influence Her Majesty's Government on behalf of entities that operate for profit.
Free and open access to government is an important matter of public interest. In order to make HMG more open and democratic, In-house Lobbyists should be required to disclose information about themselves and the subject matter of their lobbying to public office holders and the general public, as well as details of their oral and arranged communications with HMG. The system of registration of paid lobbyists should not impede free and open access to government.
