Petition Action

Allow Juvenile Arthritis Sufferers To Receive PIP When Prescribed Medications

Petition Details

Approximately 1/6 children suffer with ongoing JIA symptoms, many of them are on strong medications such as Chemotherapy to help manage (Not Cure) the disease. Many sufferers are being refused PIP, I want all who need medications such as Methotrexate/Biological treatments to receive PIP.

Additional Information

The government state that all cancer sufferers who are on Chemotherapy can receive PIP. I feel that all Juvenile Arthritis sufferers who are also using chemotherapy (a main treatment for the condition) should also be entitled along with Biological Treatments (which attack the Immune System) to receive PIP.

DLA is now only for under 16's, while PIP has replaced DLA for people who are 16+.
