Petition Action

Arm the British Police to help tackle crime and the threat of terrorism

Petition Details

Due to the recent threats created by terrorist groups such as Islamic State, the police should be equipped to defend the public in case of a Paris like attack. Due to a lack of police and them being ill-equipped, armed police take on average 20 minutes to respond to a shooting or suspected gun crime

Additional Information

There are also risks of domestic gun crime such as the murders of officers, Nicola Hughes, 23 and Fiona Bone, 32 could of been prevented if they were rightfully equipped. Whilst responding to only a burglary call in Manchester, they forced into a trap where they were fired apon by a gunman with a Clock pistol and a Hand Grenade. If they were properly equipped, then they would of been able to tackle the situation in the correct manner, to prevent their deaths.
