To stop the government from cutting the funds for YMCA in Burton, Derbyshire.
With the Government funds the YMCA aims to support homelessness and give shelters for people that are struggling. With the money that they were given they have provided shelter for 71 people across 3 sites. It was revealed that it may loose £200,000 in 2014.Without that money YMCA can't help people.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. This decision is the responsibility of your local council which appears to be Staffordshire County Council.
Staffordshire County Council has its own petitions website: http://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/yourcouncil/petitions/Home.aspx
You could raise your issue with a local councillor, who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them:

You could start a petition asking for the UK Government to increase funding for councils to fund charities who support vulnerable people in the local area, using the Burton YMCA as an example.
