Protect public libraries with ring-fenced budgets devolved to local authorities.
Since 2010, Government cuts to council budgets have resulted in huge cuts to public services. Public libraries across England have been hit hard with libraries closing, opening hours slashed and qualified librarians being replaced with volunteers . Libraries are not a luxury, they are a necessity.
