The European Union , in responce to the Paris terror attacks , are proposing to amend the EU Firearms Directive to ban certain semi-automatic firearms, "which will not, under any circumstance, be allowed to be held by private persons, even if they have been permanently deactivated ".

Additional Information

Terrorists and criminals easily source and use working guns Thousands of law abiding people own "deacts " without any problems The proposal would seriously impact collectors, re-enactors hobbyists and museums . It would also deprive thousands of honest citizens of their property without compensation as once passed no transfer of ownership can legally be made rendering currently valuable property worthless
