Balancing the demands of free market enterprise with wider social responsibility
With continuing social decline, the time has come to examine and debate the unintended consequence and social impact of an unmanaged free market, and to identify how our society might avoid the burgeoning dissatisfaction of a significant proportion of the population being amplified by the planned austerity measures in the years ahead.
If this doesn't happen there will be continuing outcry about banker's bonuses, complaints of excessive profiteering by large corporations, acceleration of the gap between extremes of wealth and poverty, a developing feeling of powerlessness and detachment among the wider population, and significant dissatisfaction with the looming budget reduction measures.
