That MPs salary should be a fixed at three times national average salary.
MPs salary is a point of contention between parliament and the people they represent. The lack of transparency of how the figures are arrived at, the injustice between MPs pay increases while public sector workers receive smaller increases causes fractures in the trust between Parliament and people.

The Government and Parliament don’t have the power to set MPs’ pay and expenses. That power was given by Parliament to the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) in 2010, so that after 2012 MPs no longer had control over their own pay and expenses.
