Ban the SoS for Health working for a health company for 10yrs after end of term.
The Secretary of State's primary concern should be the nation's health. A potential conflict of interest arises when policy framed by the Secretary of State could affect his future employment. The revolving door between Whitehall and the private sector should be closed with a 10 year waiting period.
The previous Health Secretary Andrew Lansley put in place the Health and Social Care Act - opening up health to the private sector - and the Cancer Drug Fund which heavily benefitted Roche. He went on to be employed by Roche and private equity firms with health
interests.
In 2010 David Cameron promised to end the revolving door between Whitehall and the private sector. It is time to act on this.
