Follow France! Force Supermarkets to give unsellable food to the poor!
Supermarkets are not required by law to give their unsellable food to those in need. The government should make it an offence, punishable by heavy financial sanctions for those who throw away any potential sustenance. Any money generated should also assist social mobility for those in need.
Bring the United Kingdom in line with France. Compel by law all supermarkets to give unsellable food directly to the poor or to food banks.
