Petition Action

Investigate and amend laws on selling generic drugs as expensive brands.

Petition Details

Many pharmaceutical companies sell medications which are available as generics for extortionate prices. One example of this is Ibruprofen, which is still sold under different brands for many times the price.

Additional Information

You can purchase Ibruprofen 200mg tablets x 16 at a supermarket for 0.16p. You can purchase Nurofen from the same supermarket, same dosage and quantity for in excess of £2.00. Nurofen is the same medicine as Ibruprofen but marketed under a different brand.
