The average wage of BPL players is extortionate and should be reconsidered
It is outrageous that footballers can rely on a "healthy" income in the thousands on a weekly basis whilst child poverty increases, our NHS depletes and our education system suffers at drastic rates. Something needs to change and the government should consider caps on wages or a super tax.
How is it fair that Wayne Rooney earns £300,000 a week or that whilst "injured" Daniel Sturridge can earn £80,000+ a week whilst being unable to play for over 55 matches in the last 18 months? The averge earner would be out of a job. It is scandalous that we witness such perverse incentives! When Joleon Lescott is part of a relegated team losing 6-0 and posts Tweets of his new £125,000+ vehicle to his "fans" it is despicable. Social responsibility is long lost with selfish attitudes.
