The salary for a public servant should not be more than the Prime Minister
General public opinion is that a single person in a public serving role should not be paid more than the prime minister and the savings made in a pay cut should go towards teachers, nurses, junior doctors and front line staff who are educating the future and looking after us in times of need.
It is an outrage that the Chief Executives in some of the poorest Local Authorities are being paid tens of thousands of pounds more than the Prime Minister.
For example,
Redbridge £180+
Newham £195k+
Tower Hamlets £182k+
Lambeth £180k+
Lewisham £192k+
Southwark £193k+
We could save £270k on just these six boroughs! The equivalent of nine or ten teachers!

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We cannot accept your petition as the salaries of chief executives of local councils are a matter for the local councils rather than for the UK Government.
