Grant the accused in sexual offence cases anonymity prior to a trial verdict.
Sexual offences against both genders are abhorrent and objectionable. It is the suggestion of this petition that where it is fair to give the complainant anonymity to protect their character, the same should be offered to the accused prior to the trials completion.
This would be applicable to all the accused in such instances, including offences against children, women and men.
It is suggested that the complainant be referred to by pseudonym until the trials end, if the accused is found guilty these protections would be withdrawn, if they are found not guilty then any information relating to the ID of the accused should be redacted.
