Repeal legislation on councils choice in investing/divesting as undemocratic
The government reasons on why this legislation was passed DIRECTLY contradict ALL current evidence&historical precendence,&undermine both UK and EU law on expression of free opinion&also UK Govt policy. There is no legal, logical or moral justification for it-are external vested interests a priority?
Under Human Rights Act 1998 Art10,p1 Everyone has the right to freedom of expression.THIS INCLUDES THE FREEDOM TO HOLD OPINIONS&REPRESENT IDEAS WITHOUT INTERFERENCE BY PUBLIC AUTHORITY."ANY RESTRICTIONS TO THIS RIGHT IS INCONSISTENT WITH THE NATURE OF A DEMOCRATIC SOCIETYā€¯.The council of ministers stated "STATES MUST NOT TRY TO INDOCTRINATE THEIR CITIZENS...THE PROMOTION OF 1-SIDED INFORMATION BY THE STATE MAY CONSTITUTE A SERIOUS&UNACCEPTABLE OBSTACLE TO THE FREEDOM TO HOLD OPINIONS".
