Private Housing Rental sector payments to be recognised on credit rating files.
Monthly rental payments in the private sector are not recognised by the credit referencing agencies however a late payment of a utility bill absolutely is taken into account. The single largest monthly outgoing should contribute towards a positive credit rating making buying a home a reality.
It would seem a somewhat oppressive system that ignores the excessively large monthly rent payment, with it failing to contribute to building an excellent credit rating something that is now needed to buy in the current housing market.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
This is the responsibility of credit reference agencies.
If you would like Parliament to change the law, so that these agencies are required to do this, you could start a new petition asking for that.
