Make it so MP's only financial income is provided by the state.
MP's are voted in to act in OUR interests. If a privately owned company can give an MP money then they are no longer acting in our interests. By making it illegal for an MP to receive financial benefits from private companies we ensure they work for us and not profit driven businesses.
