Stop age discrimination on mortgages
Financial institutions are not considering mortgages for people past retirement age but the law allows people to continue to work past the state retirement age. New affordability rules are preventing this, this is age discrimination by the financial institutions, the government need to intervene
The Equality Act is a law which protects you from discrimination. It aims to prevent people from being treated differently or unfairly on the basis of specific characteristics. The Equality Act makes discrimination on the basis of age, sometimes called ageism, unlawful.
The Equality Act protects you from age discrimination
The FCA is allowing this to happen every day with mortgage applications being denied.
