Petition Action

John Berkow to resign as Speaker and for creation of a code of conduct in House.

Petition Details

The actions of MP's in the House are unacceptable. Prime Minister's Question time is being used as a forum for jeering and childish taunts by many Conservative MP's and they are abusing the the roles and responsibility they have been given.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

A decision to resign is for an individual to take, not the responsibility of the Government or the House of Commons as a whole.

The House of Commons already has a Code of Conduct:

If you would like this Code to be changed, to include new rules about behaviour in the Chamber, you could start a new petition explaining clearly what new rules you would like to be added.
