More meaningful sentencing of criminals.
That the Criminal Justice System be reviewed with a view to :-
1. All prisoners serving the full length of sentence that has been handed down to them. There seems little point in jailing someone for a given period when only a small portion of it will be carried out.
2. Stopping the practice of ‘discounts’ off sentences for early guilty pleas and replace it with an added term if the accused pleads not guilty and is subsequently found guilty (as he will have lied in court).
3. No ‘time off for good behaviour’. This practice be replaced with ‘time added for bad behaviour’. Prisoners should be expected to behave properly and if they do not, it should incur further punishment.
Let us get away from a system that is ‘soft’ on the perpetrators of criminal acts.
