Change the disabled symbol to a letter/colour due to stereotypical misconception

Petition Details

For a country that prides itself on diversity and inclusion there is still a lot of change and modernisation needed when it comes to disability. Not every disability is visible and the old wheelchair logo is outdated and misrepresents the disabled community of the United Kingdom.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The UK Government and Parliament is not responsible for changing the international disabled symbol. You could start a petition calling on the Government to change the disabled symbol it uses in government buildings, and to encourage other organisations and businesses to use a different symbol.
